We witness miracles every day in the Baer classrooms. At Baer, children with severe disabilities conquer obstacles and defy odds every day.
Why do miracles happen at the William S. Baer School?
We believe in achievement.
Baer School teachers, staff, and volunteers see the potential that resides within every student, regardless of diagnosis or disability. Baer staff members see the ability, potential, and individuality of every child, and set expectations high, then higher, then higher again.
We work harder.
The Baer School provides vision services, social work, psychological services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, adapted physical education, and audiology services. Baer provides these services in addition to the academic and resource classes expected in every public school.
Teachers and staff members teach academics as well as life skills that are often taken for granted by typical students. They create individualized curricula and goals for each student, and deliver these with dedication, patience, caring, consistency, and love.
Because of this care, the Baer children work extraordinarily hard to make strides in academics and life skills. Baer students press back against the limits imposed by them with a strength and determination that would awe even athletes and soldiers. Baer students rise up to exceed high expectations, and as a result of these efforts, thrive.

Reflections on a Lifelong Connection
When I was in third grade, my elementary school class attended a program at the Baer School. That experience has stayed with me ever since – not just in my mind, but most importantly, in my heart.
Honored to Serve
It is a true honor to serve as the Executive Director of the Partnership Board. My role is to lead efforts to secure funding and foster collaboration, all with the goal of advancing the Baer School and supporting its mission.
